Colour consultation

Choose a colour by seeing it on your own wall.

Colour is the decision people most regret and the one most often made from a printed card under a shop's lighting. Consultation is part of our free inspection, not a paid extra.

Curated paint swatches and colour samples in a bright lived-in interior

At a glance

What happens in a colour consultation?

We look at the room, its light and orientation, and what is staying in it, then narrow the range to a few shades that will genuinely work. Samples are applied to your actual wall so you can judge them in daylight and under your own lights before anything is ordered.

How it works

Five steps, and none of them is a catalogue.

  1. We look at the room first

Which way it faces, how the light moves through it during the day, what stays in it, and how the space is used. All of that constrains the shortlist before any shade is discussed.

  2. We narrow it down with you

From an overwhelming range to a handful that will genuinely work in that room. Bring anything you have saved, photographs, a fabric, a floor sample.

  3. Samples go on your wall

Not a card held up against it. Applied patches, large enough to judge, on the actual wall that will be painted.

  4. You look at them properly

In the morning, in the evening and under your own lights. A shade that looks right at noon can be unrecognisable at nine at night.

  5. The choice is recorded

Shade references and sheen levels written into the quotation, so what gets ordered is what you approved.

Bring us the room, not the shade card.

The most useful thing you can do before choosing a colour is let someone look at the light in the space it is going on.

  1. We call you back the same day to get a picture of the property and the surfaces.
  2. We agree a time and come out for the free inspection.
  3. You get the written scope and itemised quotation.
  4. Nothing starts until you approve it.
