How it works

A clear painting process, from the first inspection to final handover.

Seven stages, and you approve the ones that matter. Nothing is ordered, mixed or painted before you have seen the written scope and signed off the colours.

Painting supervisor reviewing protected surfaces and finish quality

From first call to handover

Seven steps, and you approve the important ones.

Nothing gets ordered, mixed or painted until you have seen the written scope and signed off the colours.

  1. 1

    Tell us about the property

A quick conversation about the space, the surfaces and what you are hoping for. Call us or message us to get started.

  2. 2

    Free colour and wall inspection

We come to you, check the condition of every surface, flag anything that needs repair or a closer look for moisture, and measure the paintable area.

  3. 3

    Written scope and quotation

You get an itemised quote covering the surfaces, the preparation, the materials, the number of coats, what is excluded and the schedule. Nothing is left for you to discover later.

  4. 4

    Colour and finish approval

We put samples up on your wall and look at them together in daylight and after dark. You sign off the shades and finishes before any work starts.

  5. 5

    Protection and preparation

We cover and mask the furniture and floors. Then the cracks, plaster and levelling get sorted, followed by putty, sanding and primer.

  6. 6

    Supervised application

A trained team applies the coats to the specification you approved, with a supervisor responsible for the site and the daily clean-up.

  7. 7

    Inspection, touch-up and handover

We walk the property with you, note anything that still needs attention, finish the touch-ups, and hand back a clean space with your one-year workmanship warranty and its conditions in writing.

Step two is free. We inspect the surfaces, measure the paintable area and tell you what the walls actually need, well before there is any talk of a price.

Who does what

Both sides have jobs. Here are yours.

Most delays on a painting project come from something not being cleared, approved or accessible. Knowing this in advance avoids nearly all of them.

StageWe doYou do
Before the inspectionCall to understand the property and agree a time.Tell us about any damp, cracks, deadlines or access restrictions.
Before work startsIssue the written scope, quotation and schedule. Confirm the supervisor.Approve the scope and the colours. Arrange any society or building permission.
On the first dayCover and mask furniture, floors, skirting, switches and frames.Clear valuables, electronics and anything fragile from the working area.
During the workPreparation, coats to the agreed specification, daily cleanup, progress updates.Reasonable access at the agreed hours, and one point of contact for decisions.
At handoverWalk the property with you, list and complete the snags, hand over the one-year workmanship warranty and its conditions in writing.Inspect with us and raise anything you are not happy with before we demobilise.

Questions about the process.

How soon can you start after I approve the quotation?

It depends on the size of the job and what the team is currently committed to. We give you a start date with the quotation rather than a general estimate, and we tell you if that date changes.

Who is on site day to day?

A painting team and a supervisor responsible for the site. The supervisor is your point of contact for anything about the work, the schedule or a problem, you should not need to chase several people.

What if the scope changes once you have started?

It sometimes does, particularly when loose plaster comes off and reveals more damage behind it. We stop, show you what we have found, and agree the revised scope and cost in writing before continuing. We do not carry on and present it at the end.

How do payments work?

The payment stages are set out in the quotation you approve, so they are agreed before work starts rather than negotiated during it. Ask at the inspection and we will explain how the stages are structured for your project.

What if I am not happy with something at the end?

Raise it at the handover walkthrough, which is exactly what it is for. We list it, complete it and re-inspect before we leave. If something shows up later, the one-year workmanship warranty we hand over sets out what is covered and how to raise it.

Let us look at your walls first.

Tell us about the property and we will set up a free colour and wall inspection. You get a written, itemised quotation afterwards, with no obligation to go ahead.

  1. We call you back the same day to get a picture of the property and the surfaces.
  2. We agree a time and come out for the free inspection.
  3. You get the written scope and itemised quotation.
  4. Nothing starts until you approve it.
