At a glance

How does commercial painting differ from painting a home?

The painting is much the same; the planning is not. Commercial work is built around keeping the business running: phased by area, scheduled outside trading hours where it has to be, with access, protection and safety sorted in advance. You get a written scope, one person coordinating it, and a documented handover for each area.

What is driving the work?

Commercial painting is usually set off by a date or a constraint, not just by how the place looks.

  • The premises look tired to customers

Customer-facing surfaces take the most wear, and they are the first thing anyone judges you on.

  • We cannot afford to close

The work can be phased area by area, or run in the evenings, overnight or across a weekend. That changes the schedule, not the standard.

  • A lease, audit or inspection has a date on it

A fixed handover date changes how we resource a job. Tell us the date at the survey and we plan backwards from it.

  • High-traffic areas keep marking

Corridors, reception walls and stairwells need washable, harder-wearing finishes than a back office does.

  • We need it in our brand colours

We match to your brand references and put sample panels up on site for sign-off before we coat the whole area.

  • Procurement needs something comparable

An itemised scope covering surfaces, preparation, products, coats and exclusions, so quotations can be compared like for like.

How we work

How we work around a running business

  1. Site survey before any number is quoted

We walk the premises, measure up, check the condition of the surfaces, and note the access, storage and working-hour constraints.

  2. Phased area by area

The site is divided so only one defined zone is out of use at a time, and each zone is handed back before the next one begins.

  3. Off-hours working where it is needed

Evening, overnight and weekend working is planned in from the start, not improvised once it becomes a problem.

  4. Access, permits and protection agreed in writing

Who lets the team in, where materials are stored, what gets covered, and what your side needs to sort before we arrive.

  5. Single-point coordination

One supervisor owns the site and reports progress, so your facilities or store manager is not chasing three different people.

  6. Snag list and documented handover

We walk each finished area with you, list anything outstanding, close it out, and hand back with the warranty conditions in writing.

Commercial Painting — your questions.

Can you work outside our business hours?

Yes. Evening, overnight and weekend working is normal on commercial sites, and we plan it in from the survey rather than bolting it on later. It affects how we resource the job, so tell us your constraints early and they will show up in the schedule and the quotation.

How do you keep the rest of the premises usable?

We divide the site into zones and take only one out of use at a time, with barriers, sheeting and clear signage. Each zone is cleaned and handed back before the next one starts, so you always know which areas are open.

Will the smell affect our customers or staff?

It depends on the product and the ventilation. We can specify low-odour water-based systems for areas that stay open, and schedule anything stronger for when the space is closed. We will be specific about this at the survey, not after the work has started.

Can you match our brand colours?

Yes, as long as we have a reference: a shade code, a printed brand guideline or a physical sample. We put a sample panel up on your own wall for approval before applying it across the site, because brand colours can shift a lot under different lighting.

What do you need from us before starting?

Confirmed access arrangements and a contact, somewhere to store materials, the areas being worked on cleared, and agreement on working hours and any building or society permissions. It all goes in the scope so nothing turns up as a surprise on day one.

Do you provide an itemised scope for procurement?

Yes. The quotation itemises the surfaces, the preparation each one needs, the products and number of coats, the phasing and schedule, the exclusions and the supervisor responsible, so it can be compared against other quotations on the same terms.

Let us look at your walls first.

Tell us about the property and we will set up a free colour and wall inspection. You get a written, itemised quotation afterwards, with no obligation to go ahead.

  1. We call you back the same day to get a picture of the property and the surfaces.
  2. We agree a time and come out for the free inspection.
  3. You get the written scope and itemised quotation.
  4. Nothing starts until you approve it.
